TD - Senior Engineer / Engineer (ESD)
(Singapore)

Responsibilities:

Senior Engineer

  • Assist in the ESD and LU development support for various technology nodes
  • The job scope will include extensive test chip design and layout, spice model development, circuit simulations, layout verification, design database preparation and documentation
  • The job scope includes R&D on new and optimized ESD solutions from a foundry perspective
  • In this position, the staff will be support cross functionally teams such as IO design and ESD library development
    Other responsibilities will include:
  • Investigates and develops solution for highly complex circuit level ESD problems
  • Learn and evolve in any other skills and tools required to achieve challenging ESD development goals including automation, and new research areas
  • Publish in relevant peer reviewed journal and conferences
  • Actively pursue patent development

Engineer

  • The engineer will actively pursue ESD device development and assessment of ESD and LU performance of various technologies
  • The responsibilities include device definition, characterization of the ESD devices using DC, pulsed and RF testers, latch up characterization, documentation and reporting, assist internal process owners for the ESD and LU rule definition
    Other responsibilities include:
  • As required, explore the need to modify any given processes, procedures or methods to develop new solutions for the foundry and its customers
  • Continuously research and potentially develop new test methods and charactersation approaches.
  • Publish in relevant peer reviewed journal and conferences
  • Actively pursue patent development

Requirements:

  • Phd or Masters Degree in Physics
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant working experience

Senior Engineer

  • Good and demonstrated knowledge in device layout, circuit design, custom layout, and IO design
  • Well versed in circuit design and layout tools (such as those from cadence or Mentor)
  • Analog circuit and RF design knowledge is a plus

Engineer

  • Good knowledge of microelectronics and semiconductor device physics
  • Demonstrated expertise and knowledge in ESD protection design and analysis using pulsed/ ESD testers, and device design
  • Experience in HV device physics, compact model simulation, and product engineering is valuable
  • Candidate is required to have exceptional technical skills combined with evidence of motivation to work in ESD and LU reliability area
  • Open and willing to listen to internal and external customer concerns and willing to go an extra mile to help customers succeed in their efforts to achieve required ESD and LU performance targets
  • Fluency in English language is a must, with good comprehension capability
  • Ability to handle anyone with a pleasant attitude and willingness to share/mentor colleagues

EOS & ESD Test Engineer

This job will be based in South Portland, Maine.
Job Responsibilities:- Perform HBM, CDM, MM, IEC and other product ESD tests, as deemed appropriate

- Perform ESD material & test equipment qualification analysis
- Monitor ESD test throughput; minimize turnaround times
- Provide annual capital request report based on lab requirements
- Order expense items to maintain ESD test lab
- Interface w/internal customers for ESD test requests
- Create/Design new ESD test methods as needed
- Conduct minor hardware repairs as needed; arrange for outside repairs as needed
- Conduct daily waveform verifications of device ESD testers
- Perform annual calibrations of testers (working with calibration dept)
- Develop & Maintain ESD test documentation
- Modify/develop software to automate and archive ESD efforts (on-line request forms, test result database, archive of test programs, etc)
- Maintain ESD footwear tester

- Perform required benchtop/flooring and ground checks for ESD test lab
- Return of completed products to submitters so post ATE testing can be performed; follow-up with submitters for results & upload those results
- Oversee all operations of ESD test lab facility
- Interface with submitters in development of ESD test sockets/boards
- Conduct specialized ESD testing in order to evaluate products and materials
- Review Request Forms to insure correctness; follow up w/customer if necessary
- Follow-up with submitters: insure final ATE test data is received
- Maintain Device & Material ESD test databases
- Perform ESD test experiments, as necessary (includes procurement of samples, experiment design, analysis of results & follow-up reports)
- Responsible for the FSC Corporate ESD website – provide updates to FSC’s webmaster who will maintain the website

- Assist designers in the nuances of ESD circuitry and device ESD tests
- Interact with FA to determine fault location of device ESD fails
- Interact with Product Lines and Design on ESD testing
- Insure testing compliance to current industry standards 
- Determine the applicability of new standards to FSC products & materials
- Weekly report generation (summary of weekly accomplishments & throughput - analysis)
- ESD design iteration (reporting any product that fails FSC’s min ESD req’ts)
- Maintain ESD test lab including performing required benchtop, flooring & ground verification testing & log books
- Helping determine root cause of EOS or ESD fails
- Act as Customer Champion with regard to EOS and ESD 
- Review product Failure Analysis reports involving EOS or ESD
- Participate in customer and committee meetings

Requirements: - 2+ years experience in semiconductor field preferred
- 2+ years experience with ESD and EOS
- Confident written and verbal communication skills

- Knowledge of power electronics; ICs, discretes and associated systems preferred but not required
- Self-starter who conducts assignments independently; reviews own progress and provides on-going updates to management
- Ability to influence, gain respect, and earn trust with all levels of management and staff at customers as well as Fairchild
- Ability to quickly gain familiarity with customer systems, manufacturing processes, design techniques and end applications
- Excellent presentation/communication skills
- Experience developing presentations and presenting technical information in front of small and medium audiences
- Customer Focus: Understands what to do to achieve customer satisfaction
- Quality Focus: Ability to take ownership of quality issues and improvement process as needed

- Problem Analysis: Ability to perform thorough engineering analysis and provide timely solutions
- Decision making: Requires experienced judgment and knowledge of standard practices
- Planning: Ability to provide consistent and timely completion of several complex independent tasks in parallel
- Interface with appropriate personnel for meeting project goals; proven influencing skills are necessary
- Active member of International ESD Association and/or JEDEC preferred
- Familiarity with JEDEC 625, A114, A115, C101 and ESDA S20.20 preferred

Analog ESD Product Specialist

Location: Greater Dallas Area, Texas

As an ESD Product Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work with TI's (www.ti.com) industry-leading analog products for precision analog, power management, imaging, audio, high-speed converter and interface applications. You will be exposed to a variety of technologies from deep-submicron and analog CMOS to RF heterojunction and high-voltage SOI BiCMOS.

 

This position provides an excellent view of the entire commercial semiconductor flow from technology development, to product development support and circuit design, to product qualification - yielding a platform for strong interaction with technology development, product and reliability groups.

 

The primary purpose of the ESD Product Specialist position is to improve design quality and eliminate unwanted design passes caused by ESD-induced failures, while continually improving ESD protection effectiveness and area efficiency. Specific responsibilities include:

-  Design, develop and implement ESD protection structures for analog products using TI's analog processes and foundry technologies. 

-  Perform ESD reviews on TI analog products and I/O cells.

-  Perform ESD troubleshooting on TI analog products that fail internal, or customer, qualification requirements.

-  Assist with the design and development of test structures for ESD assessment of TI’s analog process technologies.

-  Maintain ESD protection structure libraries and ESD design guideline documents to be used by TI High Performance Analog design engineers and I/O cell developers.

 

The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years of experience. In this role, you will be expected to have a strong understanding of the following: 1) Analog and digital circuit operation; 2) diode, resistor, bipolar and FET high current physics; 3) typical CMOS and analog silicon process flows and the underlying process physics. Additionally, you should have strong hands-on lab experience and excellent problem solving skills.

The ESD Product Specialist position requires a high level of attention to detail and self-organization. It is extremely important to be self-directed, pro-active and innovative. The ability to manage multiple tasks within a single job and manage multiple jobs to meet required deadlines is a must. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
